Expert post-editing and machine translation training.
Get translations faster & cheaper for less-used content
We can help you train the machine translation (MT) engines of your choice on your own servers using your existing content. Once trained, unleash your MT on new articles for your Help Center, Blog, or other long-form web pages. (That's what MT is actually good at.) Our translators can post-edit the translation to make them human-quality again. Or, if it's “good enough,” you can leave it as is.
Projects 100–10,000 words. Save 10% on higher volumes.
You want your multilingual content to connect with your target audience, but you’d also like to lower costs and speed up turnaround times. We get it.
The good news is you can get quality translations without putting your whole budget into the hands of a human translator. Machine translation (MT) with human post-editing (MTPE) can provide accurate translations faster, at a fraction of the cost. And Acclaro can help you use it to your advantage.
Can a Machine Translation Service Meet Your Goals?
Not every piece of content is suited for machine translation. Highly nuanced marketing content, for example, is better off in the hands of a human translator. However, MT and a human translator (MTPE) can work in tandem to deliver the quality you need in other cases. Acclaro has the expertise to help you determine what content would benefit from MTPE and which machine translation platforms will meet your goals.
The Machine Translation Process Considers:
Content Type(s) and Volume
A good rule of thumb is the higher the value and visibility of the content, the more likely a human translator is needed for the project (think, creative content with nuance). When content needs to be generally understood, has lower visibility or would otherwise not be translated due to budget constraints, machine translation is probably the way to go. Great candidates for MTPE include FAQs, instructions, technical documentation, knowledge bases, internal memos and product descriptions/SKUs for eCommerce sites.
Quality Requirements
Rather than spending your budget on a process that exclusively uses professional human translators, you can get incredible quality and cost savings by integrating machine translation tools. With Acclaro, post-editing is handled by a team of professional linguists and QA specialists who have deep knowledge of your source content and branding. They can correct any machine translation quality issues regarding accuracy, terminology or style.
Speed to Market
The machine translation process typically creates efficiencies that can lead to faster deliveries than human translation. You can receive translations quicker than ever before, ultimately speeding up the time to market.

Custom Machine Translation FAQ
How is custom MT different than Google Translate?
You have probably already tried using Google Translate on your stuff. It's not great, is it? That's because the machine translation is too generalized. It doesn't know if your tone should be formal or informal, it doesn't know the vocabulary of your industry, let alone your company or product. Custom MT uses your existing translations to “train” a machine translation system. This increases its accuracy by a lot, though it's still not always human quality.
Does machine translation work for all companies?
Nope. Machine translation can only be trained on existing (human) translations of your content. It needs a log of data to do that. If you have a large Help Center or Knowledge base (20,000+ sentences) your company might benefit. Contact us for personalized advice.
Does it work in every language?
Pretty much, especially if the source language content is English. One interesting thing about machine translation is that there is no "best" one. Companies like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon, as well as dozens of smaller players, all offer a custom MT program. But one MT might be better at a particular language than another. We'll help you train and test the MT to determine which one(s) are best for you content and language combinations.
How do I pay this fantastic app localization service?
Although we cherish thank-yous above all, our spouses demand that we accept payments in $US (or euros, British pounds, Hungarian forint, Australian, New Zealand or Singaporean dollars). After we've received your files (using the calculator widget above or by email), we'll send you a secure online invoice based on the exact word count of your source strings. You can pay with any of the usual: credit card or PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or e-check. For European customers pay securely using SEPA, iDEAL, Bancontact, or Sofort. For Chinese customers, we also accept Alipay and WeChat Pay.
Do you have a nonprofit rate?
Yes, we will translate qualified apps for Bay Area nonprofits at cost. What does that mean? Our project manager will work for free, your translation hosting is free, and everything we can do for you as a company is free. The translations are still done by professional translators, who deserve to be paid for their work. However, they will charge you at discounted rates, a significant savings compared with our standard fees. The result is expert translation at nonprofit cost.
Unlike nearly every localization service out there, we don't have an account manager or intern answering your emails, but a multilingual translator managing it from start to finish. Ask any other localization company who will actually do your translation and you'll be amazed (and disappointed) that even they don't know. At Babble-on, we can give you names »
You slave over every pixel. We obsess over each accent mark.
