Everyone deserves to understand your technobabble
We’ve all read poorly-written assembly instructions
for that new bookcase, or software “Help” that is anything but. It certainly
doesn't have to be that way.
You've worked hard on your project. You know it does amazing things. Let's make sure visitors to your web site learn how your software can benefit them instantly. And once they try it out, let's ensure that they know how to exploit all the cool features you've built in.
A technical writer for the average Joe
My job as a technical copywriter is to understand what you do and create documentation that communicates all that complex technical knowledge as delicious, bite-sized pieces for the "average Joe." Since Joe might not know his PERL from his pecker, and might wonder what a household cleaner like AJAX has to do with web pages, I've got my job cut out for me.
I write the sort of stuff your users actually read: help documentation, FAQs, e-books, user manuals, presentations, web texts, and technical course manuals. I create texts that are clear, accurate, helpful, and—most importantly—easy to read.
Don't let your products struggle with jargon or user complaints. Contact me now.
Put your users first
Experience helps me get up to speed on your product quickly, and deliver accurate documentation without any extra direction. I am knowledgeable in HTML, Flash, JavaScript, CSS, PHP and a whole lot of other acronyms. After all, I designed the web page you are reading right now!
Putting things simply is a talent. I quickly grasp highly technical or complicated information and assimilate it into language even the technically-challenged will understand. The more people able to use your software, the most successful you will be.
We’ll quickly answer these questions from the start:
- Who's going to use this? Identifying our primary audience will decide the level of technical detail we should use.
- What do they want to do? Let's give users the information they need right away.
That brings up another important concept. Making sure that the user experience is as trouble-free as possible is also my job. As a fresh pair of eyes, I study what first-time users see (and don't see). Does the software's flow make sense? Is it obvious to the user how to access key features? I'll let you know.
I happily test your beta software for usability, report bugs, and offer suggestions. Implement my recommendations or not—it's always up to you.
So your software is finally comprehensible to your users in the USA, UK, and Australia. What about the other 5 billion people on earth?
Technical translation is one of the most
demanding types of projects I do for clients. I work with a talented team, local
for each language, to analyze your documents and perform the
proper technical translation. We use accepted glossaries, or in
special cases, ones that you provide. All translations are done
in pairs of native translators. This ensures that the average
Joe, José, Jean Luc, or Giuseppe understands your product in
language that sounds perfectly natural—whether it's from English
to Spanish, Spanish to English or any other language combination.
Currently I can offer technical translation from:
- Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Hebrew, Chinese, Russian <-> into English
I specialize in:
- Information technology/IT technical translations
- Scientific translation
- Legal translation
- Medical translation
For technical translations you'll always receive a free quote up front, and a guaranteed date to meet your deadline.

Pando software combines
a P2P network with a central server, allowing users to send huge (1GB) files
without batting an eyelash. And it does its tricks by e-mail, IM, or from
your MySpace blog. (We know you've got one!)

No doubt Offermatica's multivariate testing software is complex. But it shouldn't stop users from using all its features.
