Beatrice Basso Beatrice Basso. A native of the Veneto region in Italy, Beatrice has lived between east and west coasts for the past nine years and currently resides in the woods of Santa Cruz, CA. She has written and translated extensively for the Italian Cultural Institute in San Francisco, for various theaters around the country, and in several publications—both Italian and American. Her background is in the classical languages, with a degree in Classics and Theatre Studies from the University of Padua, Italy.
