Common Questions from Babble PlanetTranslators

Thanks for working with us! We truly value the work our translators do and will respond to your questions as promptly as possible. In the meantime, this FAQ covers most of what you want to know.

    Sign-up questions:
Q: When will my qualification test be approved?
A: We do our best to grade your qualification test within 7 days, often much sooner.
Q: What does the qualification score I got mean?
A: This is an internal score we use to organize things on our end. It's not really important, but Amazon likes to send it to you anyway.
    Q: What's the difference between L1 and L2?
Every document must have two pairs of eyes working on it to ensure maximum accuracy and readability. The L1 is the first translator working on the document. The L2 is the second translator, who proofreads and ensures the completion and accuracy of the L1's work.
Q: Can I qualify as both an L1 and an L2?
Yes, you can, as long as you pass both qualification exams. Please note that you may not perform the L1 and L2 tasks on a single HIT (document). We need two different translators working on each document to ensure quality.

    General Questions:
Q: What language combinations are available?
Currently we are offering English -> French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
Q: When will you be adding more languages?
We'll be adding more language combinations as our clients demand it.
    Q: When are jobs posted?
Jobs are posted all the time. It depends on our clients, and therefore there is no regular schedule.
Q: Can I work as both an L1 and an L2 on the same HIT (document)?
No, you cannot. As  you might imagine, having two pairs of eyes on each document vastly improves accuracy. Even if you are qualified as both an L1 and L2, you may not perform both tasks on a document. Doing so will cause you to be permanently removed from our list of translators. No exceptions.

    Payment Questions:
Q: How much do I get paid?
Before you agree to work on a job (called a HIT), the price of the HIT will be displayed. You will receive these funds directly to your Amazon account when the job is complete and approved.
Q: How do I get paid?
All transactions go through your Amazon account. You can then transfer the funds to a US bank account if you like.
Q: When do I get paid?
You'll receive the funds as soon as the client approves the translation.
