How long does it take?

Do I need a birth certificate translation notarized or certified?
The answer to this question must come from the person or institution who requested the translation from you. Some institutions, including the Indian consulate and most universities, require translations to be notarized. Others, like the USCIS, no longer require translations to be notarized — just certified. Should I send you the original or certified copy of my birth certificate? Do I have to drop it off?
We require an electronic copy of your birth certificate to perform the translation. There is no need to drop off the original birth certificate. Please scan your birth certificate and send it to us using this online form. If you don't have a scanner, take a photo of your birth certificate using a digital camera. If you prefer to fax us your birth certificate, use this number: (801) 642-5584.

How will I receive the certified translation of my birth certificate?
We offer a few ways to make it easy for you. First, we always send you an electronic copy (PDF) as a draft to approve the birth certificate translation before we print and have it notarized. You then have the option of picking up your certified birth certificate translation from our lovely San Francisco Bay Area location. Alternatively, we are happy to mail the document for free using U.S. first-class mail. We only charge when mailing birth certificate translations outside the United States, or for overnight delivery.
